Awareness of the ways in which thinking and behavior may be influenced by gender issues is critical for success in an open, progressive society. Our Gender Studies Minor draws upon the distinctiveness of various academic disciplines to create a program that addresses gender from many perspectives and sensitivities. The minor will prepare you to enter any profession with increased understanding of gender-based matters and how they impact our lives and our minds.
Summary of Requirements
The Gender Studies Minor consists of 18 credits, including two required courses and four electives. Due to the broad relevance of the minor, courses cover topics such as history, literature, psychology, sociology, and politics, and focus on gender and human sexuality in context of relationships between people and societies.
